BTS is a meeting program. It is all about connecting Peer Mentors and Mentees through weekly meetings during one year.
As a Mentor, it will be your responsibility to proactively organize and facilitate these sessions with your match every week.

In practice, you will support your Mentee in 2 ways:
1
You will be responsible of scheduling weekly voice or video calls with your Mentee. To help set up these meetings, you’ll use a dedicated Discord server that we’ll invite you to join.
Organize virtual meetings once/week
2
You will receive once a month, by email, a short form to fill out. Completing these is required and fundamental to monitor your match activity over time.
Complete monthly heart-checks
Discord: Your Headquarters!
At Heartsupport, we use Discord as our main platform for coordinating all communications, meetings, and fostering connections among participants in our peer support programs.
Within the BTS initiative, Mentors and Mentees connect through a dedicated server designed to ensure privacy and safety. As a Mentor, you will also join this server and use it extensively to connect with your Mentee every week.
Here’s an overview of the primary areas within the server that you’ll utilize.
Your Match Channel
After being matched with someone, you will have access to a unique private text channel that you will share together. This is where you will connect with each other and interact outside of your live meetings.
As a Mentor, you will make sure that both your Mentee and you will be using this channel for text messaging. We ask all matches to not use external messaging, as centralizing your activity on your match channel helps your MEA and our Staff to support you better and ensure your safety.
Meeting Rooms
After being matched, you will also have access to dedicated meeting rooms on Discord where your Mentee and you will connect for weekly meetings. These rooms support both video and voice calls, ensuring privacy as they are limited to two participants at a time.
As a mentor, it will be your responsibility to ensure all meetings with your Mentee occur within these designated channels.
Community spaces
Additionally, our Discord server is shared by all participants in our peer support programs.
You’ll find there opportunities to connect with other volunteers who may not be in BTS but are involved at Heartsupport in supporting the music scene!
There are open spaces for everyone in the community and our staff to share life updates, have general conversations, share their favorite music, etc.
