Why we exist:
Mental Health is a Problem
3 in 5 people who struggle do not seek help for their mental health. This may explain in part why suicide is one of the leading causes of death.
The greatest tragedy in mental health is losing someone who could have been helped if they had just talked about the problems they were facing. We know that unvoiced problems can't be solved.
Why we exist:
Music is the Answer
Music has existed forever. It is one of the few remaining places where people have communal experiences. It vocalizes emotion & pain we don’t otherwise express.
That’s why music is one of the most powerful influences on people’s mental and emotional health.
We use music to get fans talking about their mental health. Then we connect fans to transformative relationships that improve their mental health (one-time and yearlong).
How we help:
HeartSupport in the Music Scene
At concerts, festivals, tours, and in fanbases online, we reach fans who are struggling and help them take steps towards better mental health.
Support Wall
The Support Wall displays real messages from fans sharing their struggles, paired with compassionate replies from our team. Featured at dozens of festivals nationwide, it inspires hundreds daily with its powerful display of peer-to-peer support. Fans connect through our text-based platform to offer encouragement during shows. The Champ has its own custom version of our Support Wall to give fans at the venue an opportunity to open up and receive support.
Volunteer Program
We invite fans to join our volunteer program where they learn to provide evidence-based peer support in the scene. We offer a free, three-hour, research-backed training, ongoing education, and connection to a supportive team. By signing up, fans commit to making a lasting impact—supporting 100 others in the next six months, extending their impact far beyond the concert or video where they signed up.
Support Texts
We build a custom 30-day text program with daily messages combining lyrics from a Festival’s roster with therapist-tailored encouragement. We work the line on entrance or exit to engage fans at an event in this free support program. Boasting an exceptional Net Promoter Score of 80, our program delights fans, gives them sustaining support as they leave the festival, connects them with our trained repliers if they respond to any text, and points them to our Support Calls program where they can receive free peer support calls every week for a year.
Support Calls
Our Support Calls program provides yearlong mental health peer support for music fans. We connect one fan to a trained volunteer who will call them every week for a year. They offer the same evidence-based peer support as our repliers do on our Support Wall, but in a long-term one-on-one setting. This program is built on the belief that relationships have the power to heal. Connected through common music interest, fans and volunteers can develop lifelong relationships and have support through the ups and downs of our mental health.

Why it matters:
Impact Stories
When people connect with others who are trained to support their mental health, it has a profound impact.
Lys was at the end of her rope when she found HeartSupport. Our repliers helped her choose life over suicide.
Sarah kept the words that HeartSupporters wrote to her in her darkest times taped in her journal.
