August 2017 In The Pit

Perseverance Through Tough Times

At HeartSupport, the company and staff aren’t immune to adversity, suffering, or hardship. In fact, many of us have gone through our own trials while helping others.

Many of you know last month we had to let go of our Administrative Assistant, Megan, and want to be up front about that as many of you have a relationship with her. The company hit a rough spot this summer when we chose to focus not on t-shirt sales, but helping and ministering to those in the tent while enduring financial strain. In addition to losing Megan, all the salaries of each team member to be cut in order that HeartSupport could continue, so everyone is feeling the challenge. The team and is grieved over losing her and the events that have transpired, but committed to seeing Megan and the organization thrive.  But just like you, we go through struggles too.

In these difficult times, we’ve chosen to forgo “grinding out” work, doing a quick fundraiser, or fretting anxiously over our future. Rather, we’ve turned to prayer to bring us the reinforcements we need for the battle we’re waging. Many of you who volunteered on Vans Warped Tour noticed we’re more focused on conversations and helping others than pitching them. As we’ve turned our focus this year, we think you’ll agree that our latest endeavor gave us the best results….
